an evil clan in the forest alike to bloodclan
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
the purpose of darkclan is, initially, to provide a catalyst for a site-wide plot. but, it will be roleplayed! leopard has offered to give it a subboard to make it easier for the plot, but we will have to get the total number of posts to become a frontboard. got it?
HISTORY
darkclan does not have a long history. its founders, scar and shadow, were twins. they were both a dark grey color with green eyes. they gathered other rogues and alley cats. moons and moons later, a chant rose up from the cats when scar and shadow made an announcement. they chanted the names of their leaders and made it official. scar and shadow were leaders of a new clan, darkclan.
the age of the second leader, blackestnight, was very shady. darkclan was out of control, with cat against cat. needless to say, it was not long.
CURRENT LEADER
the current leader is midnight. (roleplayed by horselover]
RELIGION | BELIEFS
darkclan is not a religious clan. they believe in no spirits or other godly figures.
LOCATION | TERRITORY | CAMP
darkclan travels, so they do not have a set territory. they do, however, set up bases. their current base is near willowclan, in a dense forest, perfect for darkclan.
the leader has the best den, and prisoners have the worst. the higher rank you are, the better you live.
TRADITIONS | RULES
at the age of six moons, all kits must go through the darkclan test of apprenticeship
when a cat is older than twelve moons and is finished with their apprenticeship, they go through the darkclan test of membership
until they have passed their darkclan test of membership, they must be accompanied by a full member
the word of the leader is law

CEREMONIES
apprenticeship
a cat that has turned six moons will go up to the leader. he will have the deputy and senior members with him. the kit will say "i am six moons and ready for my apprenticeship test." the leader replies, "then (name of senior member) will test you." the senior member will take him into the territory, and the test (which content is classified) will begin. the cat almost always passes, but by how far is only known by the leader and senior warrior.
membership
the warrior mentoring the apprentice will appeal to the leader. the senior warrior that tested the apprentice (should he be living) will test him again with the mentor's help.
POSITIONS
leader - the highest rank in darkclan. their word is law. the only time he/she can be defied is when the deputy and senior members agree against him/her. they have the most luxuries.

deputy - the cat that will take over when the leader position opens. he/she usually leads duties such as patrols. he/she is chosen from the senior warriors by the leader.

medics - the cats that heal the clan. as darkclan does not want to be seen as soft, only members of bloodclan, or worthy others that are seen as useful to darkclan, may be healed by the medic.

senior members - the most trusted members of darkclan. they are chosen for their skill by the leader. one will fill the deputy position if it is open. they advise the leader and make many decisions for the clan, though these must be okay-ed by the leader.

warriors - the largest group in darkclan. they hunt, fight, scout or perform other duties. they specialize in one thing, but also do very well in the other tasks. a scout, for instance, might also be an excellent fighter.

apprentices - the cats training to be members. this includes medic apprentices. their mentor was chosen for them because the leader felt this cat would excell in the category the mentor excelled in.

kits - the cats of the clan under six moons. they have no responsibilities.

mothers - the she-cats with kits in the nursery. they relax, tending to their children.

elders - the oldest cats of the clan, praised for their knowledge and wisdom. they are few, because most old cats do not have the strength to travel as darkclan does

midnight was born in darkclan under the rule of scar and shadow. when they died and blackestnight became leader, she was a new apprentice. she was loyal to him, and strong, and was appointed senior member oly one moon after she became a warrior. blackestnight died on the same day as his deputy, and the other four senior members voted to have her become leader.

So, stand-in is for cats you're just having to get the whole "darkclan plot" thingy going. I would do the second one for a permanent character.
