The Pirates
History
There was once a pirate ship of twolegs. The captain owned a cat whom he named Elizabeth. Together they ruled the seas, looting and pillaging any who dared cross their path. One day, the captain decided to train his cat to fight. She was taught to climb the rope ladder, scale the mast in record time, and fight without mercy. She trained long and hard, and soon would fight with the pirates during raids. These twoleg pirates ruled the seas. Until tragedy struck. The ship was caught in a terrible storm. The magnificent ship sank and the entire crew died. Except Elizabeth. She managed to swim to a mast that floated and drifted to land. She traveled upriver, away from the ocean. She found an abandoned shipyard in a gorge and made her home there.
She started The Pirates, seeking cats who would join her. They would raid, loot, and pillage other clans. Elizabeth kept the pirate legacy alive in cats, and her clan continues to grow.
Territory
The Pirates live in an abandoned shipyard. There is one boat that is used as the camp, one for training, and one for battle. The shipyard is located in a gorge so there are forests to hunt in and a river to hunt in and travel on. The ship for camp is the largest and has three decks. On the top deck is where cats gather, socialize, have meeting, etc. The fresh kill pile is also located here, as are the hp dens. There is a balcony where the captain sits to make aannouncements. On the second deck all the semi hps and normal positions have their dens. There are working cannons on each side as well for defense. The bottom deck is the dungeon. The captain, first mate, and dungeonmaster each have a set of keys. This is where prisoners live.
The training boat has two decks and is located behind the camp. The first level has a balcony for viewers, a mast, and several rope ladders. Competitions are held here every moon. The second level has multiple fighting arenas and a stage. The fighting part of the competion is held here.
The third boat is for battle. It sits in the dock, ready to depart at a moments notice. It has two levels but is larger than the training ship. The first level has two masts, a maze of rope ladders, ropes to swing on, an anchor, and a rope ladder going down the side. The Pirates use this ship to go to war and to travel. The second deck holds all the weapons. There are knives, daggers, guns, and usable cannons and a stock of cannonballs.
The only way to get in the ship is through the top. A rope ladder going halfway down and a mast are the only way to get on, so you must be a good climber to gain access to the boats.
Beliefs
At the edge of the shipyard there is another ship. This is where the spirits of deceased Pirates communicate with the clan. You must go into the captain den of this ship and touch your nose to the pirate flag. Here you can communicate with the Marauders. When a cat becomes captain they recieve three lives. The doctor comes here every moon to get omens and prophecies.
Traditions
Every moon, all pirates who wish to compete go to the training ship. Every cat is to watch and the captain is the judge. Cats competing must climb the mast and ropes as fast as they can, run across the ship as fast as they can, and then fight. Whoever does best overall is the flagbearer until the next competition, and gets a special den for that moon.
The captain receives three lives.
The doctor visits the Marauders every moon.
Traits
The Pirates are know for being tough and brutal. In battle they fight without mercy and are stubborn and unforgiving. They are daredevils at heart and not much scares them. The leader is the best fighter and rules fairly and is willing to distribute punishment.

The captains word is law.
Cats who are plotting to, attempting to, or recruiting others to overthrow the captain will be executed.
Respect cats of higher rank than yorself.
Punishments are are to be fair and accepted without question.
Disobeying an order from a hp is punishable by demotion, being disqualified from the moonly ccompetition etc.
Apprentices are not to leave the shipyard without their mentor.
If you are of pirate rank or higher, you may challenge any cat for their position. Then you must duel them, and the winner gets the position.
Kits are not allowed to leave camp.

No cat may leave the territory without the captain's permission.
OOC
Do not launch a major plot without telling the captain's rper.
Only one hp and one semi hp per person max, but you can have as many normal and low positions as you want.
Be active. Inactivity of a hp or semi hp will result in demotion.
Activity will result in premotion.

Ranks
High Positions
Captain: The leader. They are the best fighter in the clan and judge of the competitions.
First mate: The deputy. They take over when the captain dies. They are usually the second best fighter in the clan and can be challenged by pirates for their position.
Doctor: The medicine cat. They heal the clan to the best of their ability and interpret omens from the Marauders.
Head Advisor: They advise the captain on anything and also can advise anyone else who requests it. They know a lot and are very knowledgeable. They also help determine which mentor is best for which kit. They help figure out promotions as well.
Dungeonmaster: In charge of executions and keeping the prisoners in line. They may hand off tasks to the dungeonkeepers as well.
Semi high Positions
Doctor in training: Learns from the doctor how to heal the clan
Advisor: Advises hps and anyone who asks. They don't know as much as the head advisor.
Dungeonkeeper: They work under the dungeonmaster. The dungeonmaster gives them tasks like executions or feeding the prisoners. If the dungeonmaster dies the captain decides which dungeonkeeper is most skilled for the job. May participate in the competition.
Trainer: They set up the obstacle course for the competition and keep the training ship challenging with plenty of obstacles. They are usually very skilled in climbing the mast and rope ladders. May not participate in the competition.
Flagbearer: The winner of the competition. They get to live in luxury for a moon. In battle the carry the pirate flag, which is an honor. They also get to raise the flag on the battleship. May not compete in the next competition.
Normal Positions
Pirates: Warriors. They hunt and fight, and if they are experienced they may become a senior pirate. May participate in the competition.
Senior pirate: Chosen by the captain for showing skill in hunting and fighting. They mentor the apprentices. You must participate in at least one raid to become a senior warrior. You must be a senior pirate to challenge the first mate and may participate in the competition.
Apprentices: Trained by the senior pirates in hunting, fighting, climbing, and other pirate skills. May not participate in the competition.
Kits: Cats younger than 6 moons. They may not leave camp unaccompanied by a pirate or higher. They may not leave the shipyard.
Mothers: The mothers of the kits. Once all their kits become apprentices the may return to their former rank.
Elders: The elderly or retired cats. Any cat may choose to become an elder due to injuries or old age. The elders are respected and cared for.
Low Positions
Knave: A servant. If you are captured by the Pirates during a raid, you may choose to become a prisoner or a knave. Knaves serve the hps and some may eventually be allowed to become a pirate.
Prisoner: Unloyal cats or cats captured during a raid. They are given a trial if they have committed crimes and may be executed. They eat leftovers of the freshkill pile.
